Thrifty Book Finds

Today's post was inspired by Beth at Bookworm Meets Bookworm. Her idea to showcase the fruits of book thrifting labor is brilliant.

With the price of everything rising now, books can definitely make a dent in the wallet. Finding new, creative, and most importantly cheap ways of acquiring books is essential. Plus, buying used is a great way to pick up wonderful titles that came out years ago and may have been forgotten (as with the books below) or slipped past unnoticed.

Where: Goodwill
Total Spent: $8.02

Have you read any of these titles? What did you think? I'd love to hear any thoughts or criticisms.

Also, be sure to check out The Broke and the Bookish's post on "How to Read on the Cheap." Lots of great, thrifty ideas!

  1. I'll be reading Suite Francaise very soon as part of the Classics Challenge. Also, I've found that a lot of Goodwill stores around the Atlanta area have the same books. Looks like you did well!

  2. Excellent finds! I've not read any of these.

The charity shops (goodwill stores) are the first I hit when we go back to England.

  3. I love shopping at thrift stores for books - I feel so victorious when I land a good find! Interpreter of Maladies is excellent and I love anything by David Sedaris!

  4. Great haul. I'm currently rereading Interpreter of Maladies, and I absolutely love it. No wonder it won the Pulitzer. :)

  5. I'm loving all your thrift store finds! I'm a fellow thrift store junkie ;)

I've read Suite Francaise and Me Talk Pretty - both were quite different but fabulous.
