Fabulous Fall

As you may have noticed, things have slowed down lately on my blog. Fall has been an extremely busy season that has, unfortunately, left little time for pleasure reading. I finished moving a few weeks ago and have been steadily unpacking and settling in to my new place. Then, there is the slew of fun fall activities and social gatherings that have been filling up my days. Apple festivals, scrumptious baking, a pumpkin carving party, and gorgeous weather make for a fabulous fall. However, I haven't finished a book in weeks and it's really beginning to take its toll on my sanity. Hopefully as the days grow shorter and the weather cooler, I'll be able to settle in for some more of the reading, reviewing, and commenting that I so love.

In the meantime, here are a few pictures of a couple of baked goods I've made so far.

Mocha-Apple Bundt Cake with Browned Butter Frosting

The trip to the Apple Festival yielded a peck of the wonderful fruit, and now I must find uses for all of them. Hopefully everyone's fall has been special in some way. What have you all been up to this season?

Apple Pie Pops

  1. That cake looks so good. I've always wanted to try a browned butter frosting. Is it difficult? Also, I love these pops. I made some mini apple pie "cookies" (although they were more just mini pies with the dough recipe I used) from Smitten Kitchen that look really similar. They were delicious and so so so cute. Yay! for all mini baked goodies. I'm thinking of doing another batch tonight. Fall is definitely my favorite time of year! Love the pics.

  2. I love those little pie-pops! And have to admit that browned butter frosting sounds delicious! If you can't be reading, at least you are still being creative! I know what you man about the prospect of not reading being bothersome. I am having trouble right now too, and it's seriously disturbing me.

  4. Oh my gosh, those both look yummy! I usually bake more in the fall but so far this year I have kind of fallen behind.

  6. I'm drooling over your baked goods -- yum! Good luck with the further unpacking/settling -- I'm still living with boxes, a year after my move -- so I hope you get settled without going insane!

  7. Those pie pops are adorable!

We came home from the orchard loaded with fruit the other weekend so I've been scouting for new recipes for apples :)

Hope you find time to get back into a reading groove again.
